1、About SONCAP Mark

SONCAP is Standards Organization of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Program for short。SONCAP is a new policy which actualized by Nigeria government for exanimate and control disqualification and insecurity products export into their country. SONCAP has carried out on December 1, 2005 officially.

2、Product groups

The first group: toys;
The second group: electrical and electronics products;
The third group: auto;
The fourth group: chemicals;
The fiveth group: construction material and gas appliances;
The sixth group: food and related products.

3、SONCAP Mark phase

SONCAP Mark including two phase. 

The first phase is “Product Certification”, which only apply a certain special type restricted products which first export to Nigeria. 

The second phase is SONCAP which apply to certain cargo before shipment. Above two certifications all can complete in SON Country Office.

4、Get the SONCAP Mark

There are two ways for exporters to get SONCAP Mark:
 The first way is substantiated declaration, which suitable in those exporters whose products can completely accord with standard laws and regulations of Nigeria.
 The second way is Unsubstantiated Declaration, which suitable in those exports who can not provide substantiating test report.
